UNV WEBINAR SERIES – OWN YOUR CAREER TRANSITION - The UNV Capacity Development Team has developed a self-paced learning package, that will guide UN Volunteers globally through the process of career transition and will equip them with tools to manage their career development confidently. ONLINE LEARNING SERIES - CAREER TRANSITION AND MANAGEMENT WITH UNHCR - The UNV Capacity Development Team, in collaboration with the UNHCR Career Management Section, have joined forces to deliver a series of online learning events focusing on career management and transition for all UN Volunteers globally. UNICEF External Resources on Career Transition Better than webinars, Virtual Career Labs (VCLs) are dynamic, online learning sessions, brought to you in collaboration with UNDP, to help you develop as a professional. In enhancing your volunteer experience, these sessions cover areas of self-awareness, and possible options to plan your actions in achieving your future goals.
The Career Enhancement Academy (CEA), consist of seven group coaching sessions with expert career coaches. Upon completion of the seven sessions, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the career exploration process, recruitment and interviews, as well as tools, tips, and advice to engage strategically with your career progression. The series provides all the information you need, with a focus on practical application of what you learn.

Writing effective CV and application, and mastering UN Competency based interviews

Available to all registered users. Use these online resources to build your application and CV, and to prepare for your UNV interviews. There are no certificates for these courses. Please contact the external learning platform for IT and helpdesk support, as and if needed.

Effective application and CV writing - These courses will help you to analyze a vacancy announcement and know whether you should apply for it. They also focus on the very important aspect of your application: creating your e-recruitment profile/CV, including your duties and achievements to present yourself as a qualified and unique candidate. Lastly, this course will teach you to translate your experience into an effective cover letter. Competency Based Interview - The UN uses competency based interview process to draw out your skills, knowledge, abilities, and actual experience in handling a variety of situations. Watch these e-courses to learn what steps to take to best portray your experiences and skills during the interview. Note that the course requires the latest version of Adobe flash. Interview skills - These resources guide you on how to articulate you experience and skills to best position yourself during an interview.

INTERNATIONAL TRAINING CENTER OF THE INTERNATIONAL LABOUR ORGANIZATION (ICTILO) - The International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization promotes learning, knowledge-sharing, and institutional capacity-building programmes for governments, workers’ and employers’ organizations, and development partners. It provides a number of free self-guided e-Learning courses for all. UN WOMEN TRAINING CENTRE ELEARNING CAMPUS - The UN Women Training Centre eLearning Campus is a global and innovative online platform for training for gender equality. It is open to everybody interested in using training or learning as a means to advance gender equality, women’s empowerment and women’s rights. UNICEF - AGORA - UNICEF's Global Hub for learning and development. Its supports capacity building and career development through learning opportunities open to the general public.
PORTALS @UN KAMPUS - The e-learning platform from UN System Staff College provides a range of free online courses. OpenWHO - OpenWHO is WHO’s new interactive, web-based, knowledge-transfer platform offering online courses to improve the response to health emergencies. WORLD BANK - OPEN LEARNING CAMPUS - The World Bank open learning campus provides a catalogue of virtually facilitated and self paced courses on development topics.
HUMANITARIAN LEADERSHIP ACADEMY - The Humanitarian Leadership Academy is a global learning initiative set up to facilitate partnerships and collaborative opportunities to enable people to prepare for and respond to crises in their own countries. DISASTER READY - Disaster Ready provides more than 1,000 training resources covering core topics such as Humanitarianism, Program/Operations, Protection, Staff Welfare, Management and Leadership, Staff Safety & Security, and Soft Skills. It is available as an open online learning portal for individuals to register on their own. HUMAN RIGHTS CAREERS - Human Rights Careers (HRC) supports young professionals through dissemination of information on internships, entry level jobs, free online courses, tuition free masters degrees, scholarships and fellowships and other career related articles.
 iTunes U - iTunes U also allows anyone with an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to learn from a large collection of free education content in public courses from leading educational and cultural institutions around the world, including Stanford, MIT, Yale, La Trobe University, University of Tokyo, Smithsonian Libraries, National Theatre, and more. GOOGLE DIGITAL GARAGE - Google Digital Garage provides a number of free courses approved by industry experts, top entrepreneurs and some of the world’s leading employers. These facilitate maintain learning up-to-date, real-world, skills that help  reach your goal.
